Breaking down the MyTent design process

Trying to find the perfect waterproof canopy or covering for your pub garden or rooftop can be a little bamboozling. At MyTent we take the stress out of the process by doing all the design and interior architecture work for you with our team of stretch tent experts. Before you make any big decisions we will present you with 2D or 3D drawings of your stretch tent in situ that will help you visualise your covered outdoor space.

So here is how it works: one of our experienced team will come to your venue and measure up using our laser measuring system. During this consultancy you can ask as many questions you like and discuss your requirements, they can include anything from flow of traffic to extras like garden heaters or lighting.

We will take all of your requests back to MyTent HQ, crunch the measurements and present you with a 2D or 3D drawing of the stretch tent rigged in your outdoor space. Below is an example of of a technical 3D drawing we created for our client The Real Greek on London’s Southbank. My Tent’s Javier explains: “The client needed a neat and tiny covering with the option add walls for the winter evenings. The positioning of this al fresco dining spot is a key part of the allure for the restaurant as it’s on the Thames path and is right next door to The Globe theatre - a huge tourist attraction - so it’s important that diners feel protected from the elements and provides potential customers a slice of the atmosphere and vibe.”

So the next step in the process: you’ve received your drawings and full quote - it’s at this point you can then request additional structural reports. We will discuss the functionality, use of space and finer details like where the poles and anchorage will sit. Once everything is agreed your tent will be made to order from our manufacturer in South Africa.

Once we have your tent we then come on a day that suits you and install the tent.

Voila, you have a made to measure stretch tent cover.

As we offer a management service we will stay in touch with tips about how to care for your tent during adverse weather conditions and if you want to take it down for the summer season we will clean it and store it for you.
