Keeping your pub garden open

We’re all trying our best to navigate the new normal presented by covid-19. One of the hardest hit sectors is the events and hospitality industry where important covid safety rules are having a dramatic impact on margins. Businesses are now looking at the importance of outdoor space and how best to utilise it safely using stretch marquees and stretch tents.

At MyTent we have over 13 years experience providing made to measure stretch tents for pub gardens, rooftops and terraces. Post the spring/summer lockdown we’ve fitted over 100 stretch tents at pubs, bars, restaurants, cafes and dining experiences around the country. Our tents have helped expand space and ensure that punters can enjoy their surroundings according to the current social distancing rules.

We know the importance of keeping venues and premises open and trading during these strange times. Stretch tents provide a stylish and safe solution for your outdoor space, so whether you’re George Clarke or a total newb looking for inspiration on how to bring your unloved pub garden patio to life, we can help!

We chat to some of our clients who’ve opted to install stretch tents this year.

Lee’s team now have two new dining experiences across their pubs: The Sail tent at the Lifeboat Inn in North Norfolk and The Secret Garden at Tuddenham Mill, Suffolk.

“Installing a stretch tent over the summer period gave us the opportunity after lockdown to operate more space on our two properties. We pivoted quickly and it's paid off giving our team solid employment and additional opportunities in our businesses. If you're thinking about installing a stretch tent my advice is simple: DO IT!"

Hollie’s independent bar and kitchen, Watergate Yard, Lincolnshire, reopened on July 17th, after lockdown.

“Our outside space has always been premium and the addition of the stretch tent means guests can continue to enjoy the courtyard  - despite the British weather - in safety.  Our tent is integral to our business fairing well during the new normal and we’re happy to offer guests the option to sit outside well into winter knowing they are safe.

The bottom line is: Ensuring our customers feel safe and secure will bring repeat trade. A stretch tent is an investment that will undoubtedly pay off in the long run.”
